Does the colour of your skin affect your day-to-day life?
- Yeah sometimes, I mean mostly when I was younger, and a little bit now but.
What is the most disturbing thing that's happened to you?
- I was playing football one time in a club, I think. I scored a goal, and a white guy came up to me and started calling me a monkey ( Team literally lost their S#!!) I was about to fight him and everything, so they had to hold me back, but for some reason I got thrown off the pitch.
How old were you?
- 14
Have you ever been in an interracial relationship?
- Yeah, I have.
How did it feel?
- I don't know different.
What about it was different?
- I mean like you learn about other cultures and things that people do that you don't do. It's like a whole new world.
What culture was your ex-partner?
- She was Lebanese, so she had an Arabic background.
Did the public give you weird looks when you went out together?
- People didn't care because there is a lot of mixed-race couples.
Did you ever meet her parents? - How did it feel?
- Yeah, I did. It was alright, but it was kind of awkward.
Why was it awkward?
- Because I am from an African background, and when I met her parents, you don't want to show them your wrong side. You want to show them your best side.
Does your culture affect the way you dress?
- Yeah, I like wearing flashy colours. I also grew up in England and France, so we grew up with a lot of the American influences, so id say I have a mixture of both. But most of the time I would be wearing a lot of baggy clothes from the nineties, you know big shirts or something that represents the nineties. That's mostly what I grew up with.
Are you religious?
- Yeah, I am a Christian. Well, my mum is a Muslim, but my dad is Christian. But I respect them both.
What religion would you say you follow most?
- Christianity.
Do you attend church?
- Yeah, not every time but I try to go as much as possible.
How religious would you say you are? Are there some written rules you don't believe?
- I feel like in religion there' s some aspects that people take literally, but most of it is metaphorical. You need to be able to differentiate between the two somethings have more thinking about to do Not everything the bible is what you think it is for example 'God drinking wine out of a glass' can metaphorically mean somethings else.
